'I've definitely been spending too much time with this guy,' Wolfwood thought in the darkness. 'Maybe I should disappear again.'
'Oh, sure, ignore me. See if I care,' he subconcious grumbled. 'The only one
you're fooling is yourself.'
'I'm not even doing /that/ well.'
'Kiss him!'
'He's sleeping!'
'Wake him up!
'I don't even know if he likes other men.'
'This is a fine time to find out.'
'When he wakes up.'
'Liar.'
'Screw you.'
'No, screw him! Where have you been?!?'
'You /do/ realize you're the reason I smoke, right?'
'Yeah, I know.'
'You sound just a little bit too proud of that.'
'You know, you probably /could/ kiss him and he wouldn't even notice. He's dead
to the world.'
'Shut up.'
'Why? Am I making too much sense?'
'Wayyyy too much.'
'At least take a peek at that little angelic face.'
'You're plotting against me.'
'Always. Come on, you know you love to watch him sleep'
Wolfwood dared to venture closer to the sleeping gunman. He was indeed sound asleep,
breathing softly and a little drool hanging out of the corner of his mouth. He couldn't help but smile at the sight.
He sat down by the blonde and lit a cigarette.
'Oh God, he looks like an angel,' he thought. 'That's
what he is too, isn't he? He's an angel. Why did You send him my way? You know I don't deserve such a blessing.'
'Perhaps He thinks otherwise,' the not so little voice suggested.
'What could I have possibly done in my life to deserve such a wonderful mate?'
'Maybe it's not about you. Maybe it's about him.'
'Maybe. But being with him would make me happy too.'
'Gravy?'
'Perhaps. But then, if it is about him, shouldn't /he/ make the first
move, not me?'
'He has the mindset of a child. He would sooner suffer in silence.'
'You're right. You're absolutely right.'
'About time. Geez.'
Smiling, Wolfwood wiped the away the drool hanging out of the sleeping gunman's
mouth. Then he leaned down to kiss him. The young man opened his eyes, but not in fright or surprise.
"Wolfy?" he whispered, using the nickname appointed to him and only him. "Am I
dreaming again?"
'Again?' Wolfwood smiled. "No, Needle Noggin, this is no dream."
