Fi channel.

I would be leaving tomorrow.
Kami only knew when I would see any of them again. Tristan and Devlin had both slipped me their numbers, probably mostly to annoy
Joey, but there was only one number I wanted. And it was bound to make my brother the angriest of all.
Under the pretense
that I wanted to get to bed early for my trip back home the next day, I climbed out my bedroom window; which was thankfully
on the first floor. Clutching my jacket close to me, I ran towards the Kaiba Mansion.
*********************
Once
there, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do or say. I couldn’t explain the fixation I’d been having
with Seto Kaiba, but ever since the day at the docks, I hadn’t been able to stop thinking of him. He had let something
slip in his exterior when he had ‘paid’ Yugi back for saving Mokuba. And it intrigued me.
I must have been standing
there a long time. Afore mentioned child came out and ran up to me before I could get out of the way of being seen.
“Hi!” the
boy greeted me. “You’re Joey’s little sister, right?”
“Hai,” I
replied. “I’m Shizuka.”
“Why are you here?
Do you need to see Seto?”
“I… was….
I should be going now.” You coward! I scolded myself.
“You came all
this way,” he said. “It must’ve been important.”
“Mokuba, have
you ever wanted to ask someone something, but weren’t sure how to ask them?”
“No.”
I hung my head in defeat.
“But big brother
always tells me if you got something to say, you should just say it and accept the consequences.” I looked back up as
the boy continued. “You know, not a lot of girls come to see Seto. It’s mostly people from the company. Do you
/like/ him?!?”
I could feel the red
in my cheeks.
“You do, don’t
you! Girls use to chase after Seto, but he always ignored them. But I don’t think he’ll ignore you.”
“And why is that?”
“Just a feeling.
Do ya wanna come in now?”
“I… um…
Hai.”
**************************
Mokuba lead me into
the house that seemed more like a palace, only not as showy. It was very conservative, with a lot of woodcarvings around the
doorframes. I was brought up a flight of stairs. “This is Seto’s study. /Eveyone/ has to knock.” The boy
knocked twice. There was no answer, but he entered anyway. I was cautious to do the same, staying content with just peeking
around the corner of the doorway.
Inside the room, I saw
Seto at a desk, typing away at his laptop, completely oblivious to anything around him, even his younger brother running up
to him.
“Seto! Seto!”
Mokuba said, gaining his brother’s attention.
“What is it, Mokuba?”
Seto asked him.
“Someone’s
here to see you.”
“At this hour?
Who?”
This hour? It’s only sunset.
“Jounouchi Shizuka.”
the boy informed his brother.
“Jounouchi’s
little sister?”
He remembers me?
“Hai, she said
she wanted to talk to you.”
“Where is she?”
Mokuba turned and raised
his voice. “You can come in now, Shizuka!”
Cautious still, I walked
into the room. “Hello.”
“Is there something
you want?” he asked in his usual demeanor.
“Big brother!”
Mokuba scolded. “Be nice to her! I think she likes you!”
I think even my toes
went red when said that. Seto even looked a bit flustered. But he took control of the situation well.
“Mokuba, just
because Shizuka came to see me doesn’t mean she “likes” me. Why don’t you go to bed now?”
“Cause I wanna
watch!”
“Now Mokuba.”
Grumbling, the boy left.
“I apologize for
my brother,” Seto said.
“Mine’s
worst,” I replied.
“Somehow I believe
that. Now, what is the reason you’re here?”
“Actually, Mokuba
wasn’t too far off.”
“Pardon?”
“I wanted the
chance to get to know you better, but I will be leaving for home with Mom tomorrow.”
“I see. And why
is it me you want to know better?”
Straight from the heart, Shizuka. You can do this. “Honestly, I don’t know. I just feel there’s something about you that
I’d like to know about.”
“Sou ka. No one’s
ever been as forward with me as you have.”
“And is that a
good thing?” I asked as he wrote on a piece of paper on his desk.
“Quite.”
He handed me the paper.
“What’s
this?”
“My cell phone
number and email address. It’s what you came for, isn’t it?”
“H- Hai…
I guess I was afraid you wouldn’t give it.”
“Have a good night,
Shizuka. And stop listening to your brother.”
“You too, Seto.
Have a good night, I mean.”
“Of course.”
Mokuba was waiting for
outside the room. He walked with me back to the front door. “So,” he asked coyly. “Did you kiss?”
I stopped dead in my
tracks. “Mokuba! No, we didn’t.”
“Aww! Why not?”
“Mokuba, we just
talked.” I had to change the subject. “Shouldn’t you be in bed?”
“Not when Seto’s
this occupied with his work.”
I was at a loss for
words. “I- I have to go now, Mokuba. Good night.”
The boy looked crestfallen.
“Night.”
***********************************
When I returned to my
room, Joey was calling for me. I hope it hadn’t been for too long. I went straight for the door and opened it.
“Hey Shikuza!
You go deaf temporarily or somethin’?”
“Sorry, I was
reading.”
“Ah, well, I jus’
wanted to say good night.”
“Okay. Good night,
Big Brother.”
I closed the door and
let out a deep breath. I pulled Seto’s information out of my pocket and stored it safely in my purse, the one place
Big Brother would never find it.
**********************
The journey home was
long and boring. But thoughts of talking with and getting to know Seto kept my mind busy. I wondered about him: what music
he liked, if he did anything besides run his company and duel…
**************************
I sat in front of my
laptop, wondering /what/ I was going to write. What do I write to a guy who’s probably heard everything? I had to spark
his interest, but how? Duel Monsters? No, I don’t know that much about them and he’s around it all the time. Not
his work, he already spends too much time on that. I had said there was something about him I liked, but now I’m at
a loss for words. I didn’t want to have gone through all that just to lose touch with him. Taking a deep breath, I began
to type.
Dear Seto,
I sat down to write you today and realized I knew nothing about you. That feeling about you was all I had.
So I’m gonna tell you about me and hope you write back with the same about you.
I love to read, more than normal lately, I guess since Big Brother just got my eyesight back. I admit I really
like romance novels, but fantasy captures my attention quickly too. Douglas Addams and Danielle Steele are two of my favorites.
I like to be with my friends. Sometimes I feel I can just loose myself in a crowd, as if I have to think of
nothing. Like as escape, you know? Just be talking about something that doesn’t matter at all, like the latest hair
style or he-said-she-said drama.
I hope that’s enough to start with, and hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely, Shizuka
I hoped the letter would
be enough to gain and keep his attention. All I could do was press send and wait.
I got my answer a full
day later- almost down to the hour. But the time between seemed almost like an eternity.
Shizuka-
Douglas Addams. Intriguing
man, but not exactly what I like for my free time, when allotted. When allowed some spare time, Steven King is a
good read.
As you could most likely guess, most of my time is spent with my company and working. I suppose some would
say I bury myself in it as my own escape, but it’s something I honestly enjoy. I find it hard not to lose track of time
hovering over paperwork. It’s something I understand and isn’t hard to figure out. I like to keep things logical.
Sincerely, Seto Kaiba
For awhile, our letters
stayed like that- short and simple. As we wrote more and more, the letters grew longer and more intense. About two months
after we had been writing, Seto surprised me.
My friends and I were
just getting out of classes. We saw a limo parked outside and a driver looking around. He spotted our group and approached
us.
“Miss Jounounchi?”
he asked me.
“H- Hai?”
I replied.
“Would you come
with me, please?”
“Of course.”
I left my friends, promised to call, and followed the man back to his limo. He opened the door for me and I got inside. Looking
back at me were the deep blue eyes of Seto Kaiba. I know he’s a very restrained person, but I’m not. I reached
across to him and hugged him. He returned the embrace, just as I had hoped. “Seto!” I exclaimed as we parted and
the vehicle began to move. “What are you doing here?”
“Not happy to
see me?” he asked.
“That’s
not it and you know it!”
“Things were getting
a little too hectic for my liking at work, so I decided to take a break and come see you.”
“I would imagine
so. I heard about all those Duel Monsters flying around.”
“They’re
not our fault and no one seems to believe it.” He shook his head. “But enough of that. How have you been?”
Enthusiastically, I
began to fill him in on everything that had happened, even the stupid stuff no one would care about, since my last email.
He listened intently, almost as if it was a business meeting, but one he was enjoying. Then my baka of a cell phone rang.
“Hello?”
I answered.
“Shizuka!”
I was my friend Sango, who had been in the group of friends I was taken from earlier. “Tell me! What’s going on?!?”
“Seto came to
visit me,” I replied.
“Ohhh! That is
SOO romantic!!!” I could hear the other girls giggling in the back. “Well, as long as you’re ok. We wanted
to make sure it wasn’t some government agency come to take you away.”
“Hai, bye then.
And stop watching Sci Fi.”
“I make no promises.
Bye.”
I hung up the phone
and turned back to Seto. His face was only inches from mine. I was startled at first, but then let myself get caught in his
gaze. Slowly, he leaned even closer and his lips closed over mine. I could feel his tongue push between my lips, asking for
entrance, and cautiously, I gave it. Soon, he had pulled me over to his side, unto his lap, and his arms were around me, as
were mine around him. Still kissing, I felt his hand go under my shirt and try to find it’s way up to-
“Wait,”
I said, breaking our kiss.
Seto’s eyes were
partially glazed over, but not for long. “I apologize, Shizuka. I lost my composure.”
“And you’re
entitled to that. I just- I promised myself my first time wouldn’t be in a car.”
“And you’re
entitled to that.” I think he smiled. “Now, what were you talking about?”
“Umm, I forgot.”
“There was something
about rice balls, pudding, and a theory of your friend Sango’s?”
“Oh yeah, thaaat…”
We drove around for
awhile, until I asked him if he wanted to go to my house. He said ok, and I gave the driver directions. When we arrived, my
mother wasn’t home yet.
“Hmm,” I
said. “I’m not supposed to have people over without her permission or her being here.”
“Wow. You’re
mother is strict.”
“You’re
telling me?”
Seto smirked. “We
could always wait for her in here,” he suggested.
“She /should/
be home soon,” I replied. “By the way, how long are you staying around here?”
“Until tomorrow
morning, then I /have/ to get back to work.”
“Sou ka.”
I though for a moment. “If my mother doesn’t mind, would you like to spend the night here?” I asked.
This time, I know he smiled. “Hai,
I would,” he replied.
My mother was home within
the next half hour. Be it fortunate or not, she did seem to recognize Seto, but still welcomed him as she would any of my
other friends. She knows we’re dating, and has already given me the ‘Please be careful honey’ speech. She
invited him to stay for dinner, and I politely asked if he could spend the night. She looked as if the answer was a blatant
‘No,’ but reconsidered and faced him. “You’d be sleeping on the fold out, if that’s all right
with you.”
“Absolutely,”
he replied. “Thank you for having me.”
“It’s no
problem.” She looked at me. “Shizuka, would you help me with starting dinner, please?”
“Certainly, Mom,”
I replied.
“Please make yourself
comfortable in the living room,” she told Seto.
“Is that who I
think it is? Be honest with me, Shizuka,” my mother asked me when we entered the kitchen.
“Depends,”
I replied. “Who do you think it is?”
“Shizuka.”
Mother’s warning tone. Not good for me.
“Yes Mom. He’s
Seto Kaiba, CEO of Kaiba Corporation.”
“Honey-“
“Mother, I can’t
help who I fall for. I can only assure you I’m being as careful as I know how, and since you taught me, that’s
pretty careful.”
“Just what I needed
to hear. Go entertain your guest.”
“You don’t
want any help?”
“No. Go.”
“Yes, ‘Mam!”
I rejoined Seto in the
living room. He was on his cell phone.
“Right,”
he was saying. “Uh-huh. I know. Can’t you bakas take care of it until tomorrow?” Pause. "Call me if there’s
anything else you people can't handle.” He hung up the phone and looked up at me.
“More monsters?”
I asked.
“No, still the
same ones. But the press is very demanding. They want answers we don’t have yet. I’ve been trying to get someone
to get a hold of Pegasus, but so far, no luck.”
“That’s
too bad.”
Yes, but enough of that.
Should I assume your mother doesn’t care too much for me?”
“Oh, that. No
big deal.”
“You’re
certain?”
“Positive.”
The rest of the night went well. Seto seemed to be growing on Mother, at least, at he was on his best behavior.
Everything was going great; until Duel Monsters came up.
Mom had the TV on and
there was a report on the monsters in Domino. And in the report, of course, was snips from Seto’s press conference earlier
that morning denying the event had anything to with Kaiba Corporation. Mother turned to Seto and asked him straight out that
if his company was not responsible for the events, then did they know who was?
Seto kept his composure.
But I could see him shift from relaxed mode to business mode instantly. “We are currently trying to uncover that ourselves.”
“And yet you have
time to visit Shizuka?”
“I am kept up-to-date
on everything that goes on in my company,” he stated to the sound of his phone ringing again. “If you’ll
excuse me,” he said, and went outside to answer the call.
“Mother!”
I scolded her. “What in the world were you-“
“Shizuka, I just
thought it strange there was an emergency within his company and he was here instead. I was checking his responsibility.”
I twitched and sipped
my tea.
About 11:oo that night,
when Mother had gone to bed and thought I had as well, I crept back downstairs to apologize to Seto for Mother’s behavior.
I knew there was no way /he/ was asleep yet.
Just as I suspected,
Seto was still awake, from where I stood, I could see he was down to an undershirt and boxers. He had pulled the bed out from
the sofa, but was also on the phone. It sounded like a business call. I waited until I heard him hang up before I walked into
the living room.
“Shizuka,”
he greeted me. “I thought you’d be long asleep by now.”
“I wanted to apologize
for Mother,” I replied.
“No need,”
he told me. “Don’t worry about it. Certainly don’t lose sleep over it.”
“And I wanted
to say good night to you properly.”
“Properly?”
“Yes.” I
leaned in to kiss him. It started as soft and sweet, but soon our tongues were exploring each other’s mouths once more,
as we had earlier that afternoon. Soon, I was feeling Seto’s arms around me once more. But this time, I didn’t
stop him as his hands recommenced their exploration, in fact, my hands got curious as well. I reached up his undershirt for
a feel. His chest felt soft and a little fuzzy. My hand grazed a small nub. I felt it again, and a low moan escaped his throat.
Nipple! I wanted to see what I was playing with, so I pulled the shirt up over his head. He returned the favor. I don’t
normally wear undergarments to bed, so my chest was now exposed to him, as his was to me.
“You’re
so beautiful,” Seto said, looking up at me. I moved closer to him, straddling myself across his lap.
“You’re
the handsome one,” I told him.
“That’s
right. I’m handsome and you’re beautiful.” I giggled. He turned me around and laid me down on my back. “You’re
sure about this?” he asked me.
“Positive. I’m
with someone I love. And even /if/ it’s not forever, right now it’s perfect.”
“Oh, Kami, I love
you. So much beauty… Hardly deserving of a man like me.”
“That’s
too bad, cause you’re all mine.”
Seto leaned in and kissed
me again. “Just lay back and enjoy,” he told me, laying me on the bed/sofa. I turned crimson at the words. “A
little late to be blushing, don’t you think?” He leaned his head
to my neck and laid a small kiss there. His lips worked their way down to my chest and felt his tongue working circles around
my nipples, while his fingers softly raked down my side and across my breasts. I was completely lost in the feeling. I vaguely
remember him even taking my PJ pants off. Who knows when his own had gotten off.
I felt something enter
me, but it was small. I looked down. He had put a finger inside me and was moving in a way that was… amazing.
“Nya! Seto…”
“Shh, sweet,”
he said. “Can’t wake anyone up.”
“Seto.”
“Yes?”
“I’m ready,
but…”
“You mean this?”
he asked, holding up a condom.
“Expecting to
get lucky?”
“No. But I was
hoping.”
“You were right.
I want you so much Seto.”
Within the next few
seconds, he was positioned above me. “Shizuka, you’re absolutely certain?” he asked.
“Yes. I want you.
Now.”
With no further ado,
he kissed me and slowly pushed himself inside me. I cried out, but our kiss muffled it. He kept pushing himself in and out
at a steady pace, but then sped up. The faster he went, the more unbelievable the feeling became. Soon, I couldn’t take
it anymore. I came so hard I pushed Seto out of me. It took awhile to get my breath back. I felt so groggy, but completely
delirious with happiness as well. Seto’s head was on my stomach, probably catching breath of his own. Then he looked
up at me.
“Shizuka,”
he asked. “Will you marry me?”
"What?" Perhaps I had misheard him.
"Make me the happiest man on this earth. Marry me. Please?"
"Seto..." I thought about all the reaction this event would cause. I looked into
those clear blue eyes and smiled. "Hai."
He held me tightly. "Thank you. I love you."
"I love you too."
