“Is the king /still/ gone?” Kuro asked his brother.
“Yup,” Shiro replied. “Why?”
“Chiaki. She’s so sad without him around.”
“He should be back soon.”
“I hope so. Lika’s starting to get agitated too.”
“Oh, speak of the devil. Literally.”
“Hi Ororon! Is that her?”
“Did the wings tip you off?” the devil king smirked.
“Hi!” the small cat demon welcomed her. “I’m Kuro, this is Shiro.”
“Hi there,” the stranger replied. “I’m Sara. Nice to meet you, little one.” She turned back to the demon king. “So, where’s this Chiaki, Lord Ororon?”
“Lord Ororon?!?!” the cat demons squeaked. “But you’re an- an-“
“Angel?” Sara finished for him. “The heavenly realms have never been to appreciative of my existence.
And besides, that’s what he is. Why not call him so?”
“Are you a half breed, like Chiaki?” Shiro asked, ever completely unaware of what his remarks could do
to people’s feelings.
“Kinda. So, where is this girl? I can’t help if I don’t
see her.”
“This way,” Ororon replied. “Follow me.”
The two found Chiaki with Lika in the room they had been sharing.
“Ororon!” Chiaki happily greeted the demon king. “Hello, are you Sara?” she asked the winged
creature with him.
“Hello Chiaki,” Ororon said. “Yes, this is Sara.”
They both looked to see the girl had completely transformed herself to Chiaki’s exact likeness. “Wow,”
the real Chiaki said. “It’s like looking in a mirror.”
“That’s the idea,” Ororon replied. Sara smiled, and became herself again. “I told you no one
is better at glamour magic than her.”
Sara shrugged. “It just comes easily to me for some reason,” she stated.
“Is /that/ how you actually look?” Lika asked. “Or are you just making yourself look pretty?”
“This is my true form. It’s kind of you to say it’s pretty. Thank you.”
Lika said nothing.
“Sara should be able to hold off my siblings and company until we find a new place to hide, as far away as we
can,” Ororon stated. “They’ll be finding us soon, I believe. They’re already in the area.”
“But…” Chiaki began. “Won’t Sara be caught in my stead?”
“It’s not the first time, and it won’t be the last,” she assured the girl. “Now go.”
Ororon took her and disappeared quickly with the rest of the group. Sara again transformed her appearance to Chiaki’s
a cast a quick spell to make her aura be sensed as if it were the girl’s as well. She then sat down and waited for them
to find her.
It didn’t take long. Ororon had been correct. They surrounded her. She didn’t even try to run, just hung
her head as if she were crying. They grabbed her arms and legs, and she struggled weakly. Then she used all her strength to
pull away from her capturers.
“Hello gentlemen,” she greeted them, returning to her true form.
“Sara?? The Outcast?!”
“Aww, you’ve heard of me. I’m so flattered.” She
opened her wings wide and focused her energy. Every one of the pursuers’ head’s exploded, leaving the floor covered
in blood and bodies.
“You’re
safe now,” she stated. “You also owe me big, Lord Ororon."
